Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in India on the fourth day of the Hindu month Bhadrapada. It is a festival dedicated to Lord Ganesha, who is worshipped as the god of wisdom and prosperity.

Many festivals are celebrated in India, but the Hindus are the only ones who celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi. This event was most likely only observed in Maharashtra, but it was observed today in every state in the nation.

There is a popular belief that Lord Ganesh brings pleasure and joy to the family. He is primarily honored when individuals begin fresh labor in any area; this is the Hindu people’s major holiday.

 

This holiday will be commemorated for the rest of the year by taking Lord Ganesh home with a calm mind.

 Celebration

People carry Lord Ganesh’s idol to their homes with tremendous pleasure and gladness, and there is a celebration when the Lord is delivered. The elder adults of the family are mostly holding the Lord in their hands as they dance in the hymn till the house arrives.

When the Lord enters the people’s home, the celebration begins. Aarti for the Lord is performed twice a day, in the morning and evening. Because it is said that Ganesha is a gourmet Lord, many different kinds of meals have been created for him. Various types of sweets have been created.

 

There is a certain number of days to keep the Lord in the house; some people keep for one and a half days, others for seven days, and still others for eleven days; it varies from person to person.

When the idols are dipped into the water, however, the family members’ eyes well up with tears.

According to legend, Lord Ganesha’s hero has taken all of the household’s problems and kept all of the family’s joys.

When we return home after dipping the idol in water, the house is filled with a sense of lonely thrill. On the final day of Anant Chaturdashi, the idol is visarjaned, and the Lord is prayed for to return quickly the next year.

History

This event was founded by Lokmanya Tilak, a renowned freedom fighter who sought to eliminate inequity between Brahmins and non-Brahmins by bringing them together in this festival.

Festivals have been held since 1893. Lord Ganesha is known by numerous titles, including Ekadanta (God of Endless Powers), Heramba (Obstruction Remover), Lambodara, Vinayaka (God of Gods), God of Wisdom, God of Wealth and Prosperity, and many more.
